In a thrilling sequel to his first novel, Operation: Eyewitness, author D. Rudd Wise brings Jess E. Hanes and his adventures to life once more in Amarillo Mariposa. After their run in with terrorists in Morocco, Jess and his wife Marie Ann had been place under witness protection in Texas, but the threats against them were finally beginning to subside some years later. But then the unthinkable happens – September 11, 2001. Jess, deeply affected by the tragedy, turns to his roots to gain some semblance of comfort in these trying times. While researching his grandfather’s history in the Big Bend Country of Texas, he comes across more adventure than he ever imagined. From witnessing an assassination attempt to aiding the Texas Rangers, CIA, and others, against drug smugglers and terrorists, as well as others of ill repute, Jess E. Hanes had his hands full.
